First and Last – Morels

March 24, 2013. Tonight I am cooking morels and eggs. I’ll be using these last four dried yellow morels from last year  along with the three fresh black morels from this season.

I’ll also be cooking up fried potatoes and some of these fresh ramps from yesterday. I harvested four pounds and left all the rest to grow and multiply.

These ramps still have the roots to facilitate transplanting. From now on, I’ll be cutting the roots off and putting them back in the digging hole. There they will produce new plants and the patch won’t diminish.
