Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning

Day after tomorrow (Thursday, August 22, 2013) I will be presenting a program, Local Mushrooms: The Edible, the Poisonous, and the Notable, on mushroom diversity to the Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning at the Oak Ridge Civic Center, A/B Room at 7:00. Public is invited.

I will use a slide show to explain mushroom classification with photos illustrating the key identification characteristics of each taxa. In addition to also having my photo journals and various field guides available for browsing, I am collecting mushrooms of all types this week for “hands on” examination. Maybe some take-home edibles too, if I find an abundance over the next few days.

Hope to see many of my friends there. TWCP has been very active over the years preserving many of the areas in East Tennessee that we mycophiles love to wander through.
